Zanele Muholi at Scad Museum of Art

Zanele Muholi(they/them) is a South African visual activist whose work explores themes of race, identify, and gender all while celebrating Black queer communities. Their striking portraits use common everyday objects as tools of social and personal commentary. I can’t begin to express the feeling of seeing Muholi’s work in person. It’s honestly breathtaking and the larger than life installation mirrors the imagery all while crafting a compelling story of representation. I’m so happy I got to view this exhibition before it closed! ✨
